Can you believe it’s already the end of July? That means Back to School season is just around the corner! Before you panic, remember you still have a few more weeks to prepare for the new school year. To help you do so, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite Back to School resources:

1. Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT): This website is an open marketplace where teachers can buy, sell or share original lesson plans and other teaching resources. Some of our favorite educators are on TPT. TPT even have a special section dedicated to Back to School that includes ideas for every grade level. The site is full of inspiration, and there are many freebies you can download!

2. Edutopia: Founded by the famous filmmaker George Lucas, Edutopia is a kind of utopia for educators. You can search for almost any topic including Back to School, and your search results will bring up rich content. This is a site you will definitely want to bookmark and come back to again and again.

3. Mindshift: This NPR/PBS affiliate website is perfect for teachers who view themselves as lifelong learners. Topics include big ideas, teaching strategies, motivation, games and learning. Their resources will help both during Back to School and throughout the entire school year. If you ever want to pause and reflect on the bigger picture, check out the big ideas and motivation sections.

4. Education World: This website offers free resources for teachers, administrators and school staff. They update their content daily, so there is always something new to find. They also have a dedicated Back to School archive full of icebreakers and activities to help you start off the school year on the right foot.

5. We are Teachers: This website, created by teachers for teachers, provides lesson plan ideas, professional development resources for both teachers and administrators, and ideas for school fundraising. Our favorite resource is their teacher helpline with 50 tips and teaching tricks for every grade!

6. Scholastic:  The largest publisher and distributor of children’s books, Scholastic also has a robust resources and tools section on their website. Their comprehensive Back to School planning guide covers everything from lesson planning to classroom management.

We hope these sites will provide some inspiration and practical help as you get ready for the new school year. Savor the last precious days of summer, and have a great Back to School season!
